Individuals, businesses, and foundations
support the Mountain Ambulance Service operations and capital needs
through generous contributions each year.
The Mountain Ambulance Service accepts a variety of gifts, including:
- Matching Gifts - Many companies have matching
gift programs designed to support the charities that their employees
support. We would be happy to provide the incorporation and IRS
determination letter that many companies require before making matching
contributions.
Estate Gifts - Many residents name the
Mountain Ambulance Service as a beneficiary of their will, living
trust, IRA, retirement account, or other financial account, or by
having loved ones contribute in lieu of flowers.
- Used Vehicles -
We use donated cars and SUVs for use in our training exercises, to
maintain proficiency in the use of lifesaving tools for rescuing people
trapped in vehicle collisions. Click here
to learn how easy it is to dispose of your used vehicle by donating it
for our training needs. We do not sell donated vehicles.
- Year End Gifts - Many residents choose to
remember the Mountain Ambulance Service at year's end, in order to take
advantage of tax savings.* Needless to say, your gift is very
much appreciated at any time of of the year.
- Cash or check- A gift of cash (or a check) is
still the most popular way to make a charitable gift. Your gift will
quickly go to work for the Mountain Ambulance Service, fulfilling the
day-to-day need for medical supplies, training, uniforms, and other
necessities. In addition, we will honor requests for specific uses of
gifts, such as for uniforms or training, provided your request is
consistent with our lifesaving mission. Please contact us for further
details.
- Securities - Gifts
of appreciated securities or stock can be one of the most advantageous
ways of giving. If your gift of stock is one you have owned for more
than one year, you may be able to deduct the full fair market value of
the stock as a charitable contribution, while bypassing capital gains
taxes.* For further information, click
here.
- Real Estate - Gifts of appreciated real estate
are like gifts of appreciated stock. Assuming you have owned the
property for more than one year, you may be able to deduct as a
charitable contribution the fair market value of real estate while
avoiding capital gains taxes.* The Mountain Ambulance Service
performs a due diligence examination of real estate before accepting
such gifts.
- Insurance - Life insurance is a unique way to
give to charity. To qualify, the charity needs to become the owner and
the beneficiary. No incidents of ownership should be retained. If the
policy is paid up, your charitable contribution is generally the
replacement value or cost basis of the policy, whichever is less.
Ongoing premiums paid on a gifted life insurance policy may also
qualify for charitable deductions.*
